Data We Collect

This Site does not require you to create an account or provide personal information. The Site's core function is to read your own IP address from your HTTP request, geolocate it, and display the result to you. We may process the following data when you visit the Site:

  • Your IP address: read from your HTTP request and shown back to you. We also geolocate it (see "IP Geolocation" below).
  • Technical data: browser type and version, operating system, device type, screen resolution
  • Usage data: pages visited, time spent on pages, referral source, date and time of visit
  • Cookies: see the Cookies section below

IP Geolocation

When you visit the Site, your IP address is the central data point — the entire service consists of displaying it to you alongside geolocation and network information (country, region, city, ASN). The lookup is performed against the MaxMind GeoLite2-City and GeoLite2-ASN databases installed on our own server. No API call is made to MaxMind and your IP is not transmitted to any third party for this lookup. The result is shown to you on the request page only and is not stored beyond standard server access logs (retained 12 months).

This product includes GeoLite2 data created by MaxMind, available from https://www.maxmind.com.
